Applications, consisting of curriculum vitae, three references for letters of recommendation, and statement of research interest, should be sent to COLA ESM PostDoc Search (gates@cola.iges.org) by 15 September 2010. Senior Research Scientist The Center for Ocean-Land-Atmosphere Studies (COLA) is pleased to announce the availability of a senior research scientist position. The area of interest is the role of the land surface and biosphere on climate variability and predictability. The successful applicant will carry out research in a multi-disciplinary team research environment, and direct original research by other scientists and doctoral students. A Ph.D. in meteorology, or related field, is required. Research expertise, demonstrated by a suitable publication record, on seasonal to interannual, or longer period, climate modeling and predictability is required. The appointment will be made jointly with the Department of Atmospheric, Oceanic and Earth Sciences (AOES) of the College of Science at George Mason University (GMU), which is offering a position at the level of professor to begin in the autumn of 2011. The position will remain open until filled, but applications received before October 31, 2010 will receive priority.
